Is it just me or are communications not what they use to be? Forget the fake news. I never listen anyway as it is all trash talk, humorless dribble and chaos reporting. However, I’ve noted that people will rarely talk on the phone anymore and a good well written letter that takes quality time and caring is rarely used anymore.
In my family consumer science classes we are learning to make a good menu, sit at the table and talk to each other. We are learning proper table settings formal and informal. We will be writing invitations and thank you notes to our league of parents and supporters who keep the ball rolling.
I find such comfort in these, now, old fashioned means of communication. It comes from a simpler time and a more genteel climate. Don’t get me wrong, I love my computer, phone, pad and Skype. It let’s me check on loved ones in real time. But must we abandon the old style communications? I vote no! But that’s just me.
Take a moment to drop someone who is shut-in or in the hospital a hand written note or letter today. It will make a difference in their life and yours. I can feel the good Karma already!
