Oven 350° 9” X 13” buttered baking pan Serves 8-10

1) Make the Topping: roll out prepared sugar cookie dough in a rectangle and chill till firm. Slice dough ¼ inch strips for topping.

2) Prep the Fruit: In a large bowl place the fruit required from what ever dowdy recipe you are using. Usually suggests ½ cup granulated sugar, ½ Tsp cinnamon, 4 cups nectarines; 4 cups berries of choice, ¼ cup cornstarch, 2 Tbsp finely grated orange zest, ½ cup orange juice; 2 tsp. Grated ginger, ½ tsp ground cardamom, ½ tsp grated nutmeg. Toss Well.

3) Fill the Pan: Spread the fruit in a 9” X 13” buttered baking pan.

4) Arrange the topping: Place the strips of cookie dough on top in your choice of pattern. It will spread during baking. Brush dough with cream

5 Sprinkle on Sugar: For light crunch and spice sprinkle the top with cinnamon and sugar mix.

6) Bake and Serve: Cook pan-dowdy until the fruit is bubbly and the top crisp. Serve with Ice Cream.

RECIPE:

1 Roll Prepared Sugar Cookie Dough

½ Cup Granulated Sugar

½ Tsp Cinnamon

2 Tbsp Finely Grated Orange Zest

4 Cups Nectarines

4 Cups Blueberries Or Berries Of Choice

½ Cup Orange Juice

2 Tsp. Grated Ginger

½ Tsp Ground Cardamom

½ Tsp Grated Nutmeg

In a large bowl toss fruit with sugar and cornstarch. In a small bowl combine ½ Tsp cinnamon, 2 Tbsp finely grated orange zest, ½ cup orange juice; 2 tsp. Grated ginger, ½ tsp ground cardamom, ½ tsp grated nutmeg. Toss Well. Mix in with the fruit and gently toss again.

In the buttered baking dish/pan place the fruit required from what ever dowdy recipe you are using. Place the cut cookie dough on top and brush with cream and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Cook pan-dowdy until the fruit is bubbly and the top crisp
